MovieRating: PG-13

MovieType: Video Store

MovieDescription: ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS Cast: Jason Lee, David Cross, (voice talents of) Jesse McCartney, Justin Long, Matthew Gray Gubler. Directed by Tim Hill. Featuring characters originally introduced in 1958 and in the animated television series in the early 1960s, this film retraces the chipmunks first meeting with Dave, their reluctant caregiver. Struggling as a songwriter, Dave writes a Christmas ditty that the Chipmunks perform, which becomes a smash hit. The MPAA has rated this film PG for crude humor. The film contains no profanity or substance use. There are a few instances of crude behavior, most notably when a chipmunk defecates while another one refers to it as a raisin, in hopes of not offending their host, and proves it by taking a bite of it. Flatulence sounds and humor are also briefly part of the film. Quick veiled references to sensuality are made in regard to a booty call. The chipmunks engage in pranks in order to further a romance for their caregiver, but are unsuccessful in their attempts. Other humorous slapstick pranks and mischief are featured in the film, but neither man nor animal is ever seriously injured as a result.
