MovieDescription: ADVENTURELAND Cast: Jesse Eisenberg, Kristen Stewart, Martin Starr, Bill Hader, Kristen Wiig. Directed by Greg Mottola. In this comedy, a recent college graduate is informed by his parents that due to financial problems, his long-planned European trip is cancelled and they wont be able to send him to graduate school as agreed. He finally lands a minimum wage job at the local amusement park as a barker in a game booth. The MPAA has rated this film R for language, drug use, and sexual references. Strong language is used. On his first day, James is regaled with horror stories about the park, including an account of one attraction on which a patron lost his shoe, with his foot still in it. Occasionally park patrons vomit. Sexual references and gestures are used. His best friend since childhood is an annoying pest who takes every opportunity to sucker-punch James in the groin. The girl he is dating, Em, is secretly having an affair with the married park maintenance man until the rumor gets out and her reputation is ruined. The lovers are shown in a steamy scene during which he is taking off her clothes. Marijuana and alcohol are consumed. James spends most of his earnings on one or the other. One character makes it a habit of using any sort of drug he can find in his parents home, including cough medicine. The main characters are disrespectful of their parents for various reasons. Parents are portrayed as detached from their nearly adult children.
