MovieDescription: AIR BUD RATED STARRING: MICHAEL JETER, KEVIN ZEGERS, WENDY MAKKENA, ERIC CHRISTMAS, BILL COBBS, BUDDY. DIRECTED BY: CHARLES MARTIN SMITH. In this story, a trained dog ends up as the fifth member of a boys basketball team. I don't have the official word from the MPAA as to why this is rated "PG". They would probably say it is for mild language and possibly for comic violence. The mean and nasty man who makes his living as a clown uses about three words that some would consider very mild swearing. Others would put the words in the rude category. A young boy who's father recently died in an accident and is trying to adjust to a new school, a bully, an unlikely role model who comes through for the kids, the villain, a coach who is way too interested in winning, and, of course, Buddy the wonderful dog that brings all the elements together. The comic violence is generally the result of things that happen to the clown due to his own actions. Buddy the dog also gets into some predicaments that are disastrous and funny.
