MovieDescription: ALMOST FAMOUS Cast: Patrick Fugit, Kate Hudson, Billy Crudup, Frances McDormand, Jason Lee. Directed by Cameron Crowe This film follows a high school boy in the 1970’s who gets a chance to test his budding journalism skills by covering a rock and roll band. He goes on the road with the band during his senior year in high school against his mother’s wishes. She keeps reminding him during every contact not to take drugs. His journey takes him into the wild world of rock and roll, where drinking, sex and drugs are commonplace. The MPAA rating is "R" for language, drug content and brief nudity. Several women are shown in their undergarments with some female frontal nudity. Sexual encounters occur off screen. Valium is used. One girl takes an overdose of quaaludes and has to have her stomach pumped. In one scene, multiple women converge on this young journalist, intent upon stealing his virginity. One of the singers is injured by an electric shock during a performance. Small-town values are juxtaposed against a life of glamour and fame.
