MovieDescription: SURROGATES Cast: Bruce Willis, Radha Mitchell, Rosamund Pike, Boris Kodjoe, James Cromwell, Ving Rhames. Directed by Jonathan Mostow. In this sci-fi thriller set in the not-too-distant future, people control robots that look and act like themselves rather than venture out into the world. The use of surrogate robots has reduced crime and made the world accessible to individuals with physical limitations. A violent crime causes an FBI agent to go out in person and discover a sinister plot that threatens everyone connected to a surrogate. The MPAA rates the film PG-13 for violence, disturbing images, language, sexuality and a drug-related scene. A ray-gun sends electrical current into robots, causing their circuits to burn. Since the robots appear human it appears to be a human sizzling. The humans operating the robots have their brains fried, resulting in bloody tissue pouring from their eyes, nose, mouth and ears. People are beaten and kicked, resulting in bloody wounds on the face. Humans are shot with machineguns and hand guns and shown with blood-stained clothing. Some mild to moderate language and profanity are used in the film and only brief strong language. The robotic surrogates are physically perfect and flaunt their bodies with scanty clothing. Women are shown in their underwear. One scene shows a real womans bare backside for a brief moment. Couples embrace, kiss passionately and fondle one another. Robots use an electrical device to achieve drug-like stimulation. There is discussion of the death of a child and the resulting estrangement of the parents.
