In this love story, a soldier falls in love with a college girl but his service keeps them apart. They vow to stay in contact via letters and wait for the times they can be together. The MPAA has rated the film PG-13 for sensuality and violence. The film contains brief instances of moderate profanity. War violence is observed in some scenes with bombs exploding buildings and individuals engaging in machine gunfire. In one scene a character is shot and seriously injured while in battle. Characters are depicted romantically kissing in several scenes. In one scene a couple engage in premarital sexual relations, although there is no nudity shown. In another scene a man watches a woman undress. Her naked breasts are strategically blocked from view in the shot. Adults drink alcohol socially in some scenes. There is no other substance use.
