MovieDescription: EDGE OF DARKNESS Cast: Mel Gibson, Ray Winstone, Danny Huston, Bojana Novakovic, Shawn Roberts. Directed by Martin Campbell. In this drama, a Boston homicide detective witnesses the murder of his only child and everyone assumes he was the target. As the murder investigation unfolds, he is determined to undercover the secret life his daughter was leading and bring her killers to justice. The MPAA has rated this film R for violence and language. Strong language including some profanity punctuates a number of scenes. The cops investigation leads him into a world of corporate and political cover-ups, collusion and multiple murders. The opening scenes show three bodies floating in a river. His daughter is struck with a fatal bullet that causes her to hemorrhage and die before help can arrive. She is surrounded by a pool of blood. A friend of the daughter agrees to meet secretly with the cop on a rural road outside the city, but when she steps out of the car she is brutally struck and killed by a passing vehicle. He draws his handgun and opens fire on the driver, and the car runs off the road and capsizes in a nearby body of water. Throughout this film, viewers will see several additional characters killed with handguns and by radiation.
